An effective science communication workshop was organized at the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research's Conference Centre, University of Ghana, on March 2 and 3, 2023, March 7, 2023, and March 17, 2023, respectively, for PhD students, researchers in academic and research institutions, and NGOs and CSOs in Ghana. The workshop aimed to bridge the communication gap between researchers and users of research products, particularly policymakers and advocates, in the research-policy space. Prof. Audrey Gadzekpo facilitated this workshop by leveraging participant-prepared journal articles, research papers, and reports as samples of science and research products to provide practical lessons to participants on how to effectively communicate their work to non-academic audiences. The participants benefited from Prof. Gadzekpo's hands-on instruction in media engagements, elevator pitch practice, and best practises for producing press releases, op-eds, and Ted Talks.
