Prof. Fred Dzanku

Fred Dzanku is an associate professor at the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana. His research focuses principally on the economics of household behavior in sub-Saharan Africa. Fred’s current research areas include impact evaluations using randomized controlled trials (RCTs), household welfare and poverty analysis, economic policy analysis, ex ante evaluation of biotechnology, and natural resource governance.

Prof. Irene Egyir

Agricultural Economist with 29 years’ experience, teaching and engaging in research and consultancies in resource use, gender and policy evaluation. She obtained a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana in 2003 and has since explored what other countries discuss on the subject. Irene has travelled widely to all the continents to attend conferences to deliver or listen to other colleagues.

Prof. Joseph Yaro

Joseph Awetori Yaro is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Ghana.  He is currently the Principal of the University of Ghana Accra City, and the West Africa Regional Hub Coordinator for the Futures Agricultural Consortium. He was the Director for the Regional Institute for Population Studies (2018-2021), and the Head of the Geography and Resource Development (2017) University of Ghana. Joseph’s teaching and research interests reflect a combination development studies and rural geography.

Prof Dzodzi Tsikata

Dzodzi Tsikata, Professor of Development Sociology, has been Director of the Institute of African Studies (IAS) at the University of Ghana since August 2016. Before this, she was based at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) during which time she was Deputy Director and Director of the Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA) at the University of Ghana. She has a Ph.D in Social Science from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
